DIG TATTOO POP-UP SHOP
2014
In conjunction with project TATTAW, the DIG Pop-up tattoo shop was to promote and preserve tattoos from indigenous tribes from around the world - specifically tribes that have gone extinct or on the brink of extinction. Using the DIG space in London, UK the event happened within an exhibition, merging fine art and tattoos in one environment.
The designs shown were chosen from research on tribal tattoos that were used to commemorate a rite of passage, beauty, and tribal status, and were altered for specific clients who wanted free-hand, custom designs.
Event happened February 28th 2014
