COVID-RELATED

WHAT’S YOUR PROTOCOL?

I prioritise people from NY or neighbouring states - if you travel via personal car.

Everyone MUST get tested prior to your appointment. Even if you’re fully vaccinated we ask require a negative result.

Clients should arrive wearing double-mask for the safety of others.

WHAT IF I’M FROM OUT OF STATE?

If you are fully-vaccinated, we accept. But MUST get tested and receive a negative.

If you’re half-vaccinated, we require a test.

If not vaccinated, you must follow the quarantine guidelines, especially if you’re coming from a hotspot area. And must get tested.

CAN I BRING FRIENDS?

At this moment, we cannot accept companions. 

WHAT IF MY RESULTS DON’T COME IN ON TIME?

We would discuss this further. But really plan out your appointment. I know logistically, it’s been a nightmare. 

If you aren’t developing any symptoms and have been resilient on avoiding indoor dining, sporting arenas, or socialising inside then I can consider proceeding with our appointment.

I open my books every 2 months.

HOW DO I BOOK?

I’m primarily focusing on FLASH requests. But every now and then I accept custom (which will be announced on my IG page)

Depending on your tattoo needs (flash or custom), you can take a look at the appropriate protocols to get a sense of each process. Then fill out my request form.

DO YOU TRAVEL FOR TATTOOING?

Yes! Once COVID-19 clears out and it feels safe to travel again I will.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

The studio is in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. 

The information will be sent in your appointment confirmation email.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T MAKE MY APPOINTMENT?

If you can’t make your appointment, I prefer if you notify me as soon as you can. Depending on the reason of your cancellation, we could reschedule or cancel entirely. If the latter, your deposit is forfeited.

DO YOU DO BLAST OVERS?

I sure do!

WHAT DAYS DO YOU WORK?

I usually book appointments on weekdays, and ONLY allowing a very limited amount of weekend slots. 

I also need a few days off to recuperate. 

IS THERE PARKING WHERE YOU’RE LOCATED?

Only street parking. So if you plan to come in a car, I suggest you give yourself ample time to find a spot. It’s all pure luck.

IS THERE AN ATM NEARBY?

Yes. The closest machine is at the very front entrance to our building.

I’ll send directions and a diagram in the confirmation email before your appointment.

There is also a deli on Franklin Ave. which has an ATM.



PRICING

HOW MUCH DO YOU TATTOOS COST?

My minimum is $250.

For flash designs it ranges between $250-$600

For custom designs it ranges between $250-$800

DO YOU WORK WITH PEOPLE’S BUDGETS?

Yes I do! That can be discussed during our email communications.

DO YOU ACCEPT TIPS?

Of course! 

For any service, it is courtesy to tip for said service. 

I also recommend you tip according to your experience with me. If you like it, tip more.

Baseline is usually 20%.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

I accept cash or Venmo.

CAN I KNOW THE TOTAL COST OF MY TATTOO PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Yes. Usually how my process works is that once I get in contact with you regarding your tattoo project, I give a quote in advance.

I also try to accommodate client’s budget restrictions (with good reason).

WHAT’S YOUR POLICY ON DEPOSITS?

I’m afraid deposits are non-refundable. Let’s say if you can’t make your appointment and want to reschedule: I will honour your deposit.

If you need to cancel entirely, your deposit gets forfeited.

Bare in mind, that deposits  is another form of payment for me. Deposits covers the time spent on designing as well as communicating with you.



COLOUR-RELATED

DO YOU DO COLOUR TESTS?

I do! Especially for POC who are interested to know how colours heal. I offer FREE colour tests to anyone - you can request a session on my tattoo request form!

I always want to make sure your tattoo looks and ages beautifully. For coloured flash pieces, I always adjust colours to suit your skin tone.

CAN I ADJUST COLOURS?

Definitely. Given each circumstance, I am flexible with changing my colours to suit your needs. Just bare in mind that each colour I pick for design is specifically for balance and flow between relationships of colour and elements. Having said that, I change and/or adjust colours to suit a person’s personal preference.

HOW DO YOU PICK YOUR COLOURS?

My relationship with colour harmony came from my painting practice. While tattooing may have differences to painting, there are a lot I’ve learned in my apprenticeship that are also similar. First is understanding colour choices against background/canvas/skin. 

Colours represent emotions for me, and balancing my colours between warm and cold is my main approach. I am very picky with my colours and often mix my inks to get the ride shade, hue and saturation. 

CAN I TALK TO YOU MORE ABOUT COLOUR?

Absolutely! I encourage people to share their thoughts, concerns and/or curiosities with me regarding this part of my tattoo practice. 

If I can shed light on how I work and how I came about what information I have, as well as opening the conversation about colour tattoos on a variety of skin tones, then I’m pleased to take the time to do so.

While I have the information I have, I am not ending my pursuit of learning more. I am turning my attention to artist of BIPOC to further educate myself and my practice.

I AM A BIPOC AND I’M HESITANT ON GETTING COLOUR TATTOOS.

I 100% understand your predicament. Most important point to make is that I never turn away a client for their skin tone. I work closely with my clients on the day of our appointment to adjust colours (mixing colours, changing colour palette, etc.) that ensures the quality and longevity of my tattoos that best suits each person’s skin tone.

CAN I MAKE A FULL-COLOUR FLASH DESIGN INTO A MONOCHROME?

No you can’t.

CAN I MAKE A MONOCHROME FLASH DESIGN INTO FULL COLOUR/TWO-TONE/GRADIENT PIECE?

Yes you can! 

I would like to be notified on this change prior to so I can prepare for our appointment. But be aware I don’t have time to draft it out for you, so I will discuss this with you in person.


FLASH-RELATED

HOW DO I RESERVE A FLASH?

If you see a design you like on my website (not Instagram), then that means it’s still available. 

When my books open, you can reserve a flash by submitting a request and a deposit. You have 2-3 days to send in your deposit to lock in your design.

Once I have your deposit, the flash design comes off of my website and will be yours!

WHAT IF I DON’T SEE THE FLASH DESIGN I WANTED ON YOUR WEBSITE?

If it’s not there, that means someone else had reserved it.

And remember, it’s first come, first serve. Whoever pays the deposit first gets it.

And I will not repeat a flash design.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU RELEASE DESIGNS?

That depends. I release designs days/weeks prior to my books opening. So every 2 months or so.

But it depends if I’m having a creative burst as well.

WHAT IF I SEE A DESIGN I WANT, BUT YOUR BOOKS ARE CLOSED?

Then you would have to wait until they open again.

I make announcements on my IG page’s bio section.

FOR FLASH, CAN I REQUEST A CHANGE IN COLOUR SCHEME?

To a certain degree. I only allow changes in colour scheme if you feel that one of the colours may not work on your skin tone. But I would prefer to stick to the original colour scheme as it’s part of my practice and concept of the specific flash series.

CAN I CHANGE MY PLACEMENT EVEN AFTER I’VE SUBMITTED A REQUEST?

Of course you can! The whole idea of asking for placement on my form is to better understand the project. Especially when it comes to setting up my station for our appointment. 

But playing on the day of is usually my preferred method.

CAN I SUBMIT A REQUEST OUTSIDE OF YOUR BOOKS OPEN?

Unfortunately, no. I cannot have requests coming in as it becomes overwhelming to keep up with all the emails. At the end of the day, I don’t want to spend 80% of my time looking at a screen and replying to every request.

If you submit a request outside of open window, it will be ignored. 

AFTER RESERVING A DESIGN, HOW LONG DO I HAVE UNTIL I CAN CHANGE IT?

At least within a month of paying a deposit for that deisgn you’ve chosen. 

Even if I release more flash after you’ve reserved one, please refrain from changing it as it gives others a chance to reserve a design they want as well.

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO A FLASH DESIGN?

Unfortunately, no. Flash designs are as is. 

Please understand that all the designs I publish are created with a concept in mind.

CAN I RESERVE MORE THAN ONE DESIGN?

Unfortunately, I cannot allow clients to claim more than one design per booking. It gives other people the opportunity to submit the deisgn they want, as designs get taken really fast. 

However, if your other design(s) are still available in the next round of bookings, then you can resubmit for another session.

I LIVE OUTSIDE THE STATE/COUNTRY,CAN I PURCHASE A DESIGN FOR ANOTHER TATTOO ARTIST TO DO?

Absolutely not! My designs are my babies and I would much prefer to tattoo them. 

CAN I FLIP/MIRROR A DESIGN TO FIT THE PLACEMENT I WANT?

Yes you can!

CUSTOM-RELATED

CAN I BRING A SPECIFIC IDEA TO YOU?

It depends. I only take on projects that I feel best fits my aesthetics. Particularly working with concepts and visual references. If you have something visually specific in mind, I will accept the project if it fits but bare in mind, I need my creative freedom to execute your tattoo well, and will interpret your reference that suits my practice.

DO YOU DO CUSTOM?

Yes I do. But I am only limiting custom pieces to 2 projects at a time. Before, I had time to execute custom pieces. But as I’m slowing getting busier, it’s getting more tricky to fit in the time and energy for unlimited custom projects.

HOW LONG DOES CUSTOM TAKE?

It depends. Some times communication between myself and you can be really smooth and easy, or it can take a little more time. My aim is to always send you a design that a) meets your needs, and b) that it’s a design I am 100% satisfied to share with you.

Bare with me as some times I have to be in the right headspace for custom pieces to flow well.

AFTER THE FIRST DRAFT YOU SEND, CAN I MAKE CHANGES?

Of course you can. It will just take up more time and therefore, cost more money on how long it’ll take until you are happy with the design.

So be sure that you have the budget to pay for custom pieces, as they are naturally more costly.

WHAT IF HALF WAY THROUGH THE CUSTOM PROCESS, I SLOWLY REALISE I CAN’T AFFORD IT ANYMORE?

That’s where the deposit comes in handy for myself. If you can’t afford to move forward with the custom design, I either have you pay a little extra, on top of the deposit, to cover the additional time I’ve spent working on your design. Or, if the deposit takes care of the design time, then we will get drop the projects.

But you MUST notify me via email as soon as you realise you cannot afford it.

Then the design gets released as a flash.

DO YOU DO CUSTOM FOR TRAVEL GUEST SPOTS?

No. Custom projects for when I’m travelling to a studio outside of NYC takes a lot of time and energy on top of all the other projects and custom pieces I currently am working on. So flash only when I’m travelling. 

I am open to doing freehand work but that would cost equivalent to a custom piece.
